Clarity Blue™ Dianella, from Ozbreed, is a striking and tough Australian grass variety that brings exceptional performance and vivid colour to modern landscapes. Known for its clear blue foliage, it offers a stronger and more resilient alternative to Utopia® Dianella, with the added bonus of showy flower stems in summer that enhance its ornamental value.
Growing to approximately 550mm high and 450mm wide, Clarity Blue™ forms a neat clump similar to the popular Cassa Blue® Dianella, making it ideal for accent planting or group massings where colour contrast and structure are desired. Its clean form and vibrant hue make it particularly effective in urban, residential, or commercial landscaping projects that demand visual impact with low maintenance.
This Dianella tolerates drought, frost, and a range of soil types—from well-drained soils to clay loams—although it’s best to avoid prolonged wet feet. It can tolerate periodic wet conditions, making it adaptable to varied planting situations.
Clarity Blue™ is well-suited to gardens and landscapes across NSW, ACT, SA, WA, VIC, TAS, and QLD. For best results, it should be planted at a density of 4–8 plants per m² or 2–4 per linear metre. Care is straightforward: water regularly during establishment (8–13 weeks), mulch with chunky mulch, and apply slow-release fertiliser after the first two months if needed. Annual trimming of older leaves will help maintain its fresh, tidy appearance.
